VETERAN MENTOR PROGRAMS

1:1 pairing with women who've already walked it — Veterans 3–10+ years out, building the second careers you're imagining.

Female African American Marine

She's been where you are. She isn't anymore.

Coaching is for skill. Therapy is for healing. Mentorship is for proof — proof that another woman with your backstory built the thing you're trying to build. Our Veteran mentor programs pair you with women 3–10+ years out, working in fields you might be heading toward: business, government, nonprofit, healthcare, law, entrepreneurship, defense industry.

How pairings are made.

By hand — not by algorithm. We match on three axes:

  • Field overlap. Where you're trying to go, she's been.
  • Branch / agency overlap. Shared service culture means less translation.
  • Life stage. Caregiver-to-caregiver, founder-to-founder, single-to-single.

We pair after a 30-minute intake on each side. Re-pairing offered at month 3 if chemistry isn't right — no awkwardness.

Commitment & cadence.

  • 6-month minimum commitment, monthly 60-minute calls.
  • Ad-hoc text/email between calls — within mentor bandwidth.
  • Mentor & mentee both vetted: NDAs in place, code of conduct signed.
  • Optional cohort "mentor circles" — 1 mentor, 4 mentees, quarterly.
  • Light, ongoing community thread for all program participants.

Become a mentor.

If you're a woman Veteran 3+ years out and you remember the year nobody saw you — we'd love you on the mentor roster. Light commitment (1 mentee, 1 hour/month minimum), hand-picked match, and a private mentor-only community of women paying it forward. Volunteer to mentor →

Frequently asked

Common questions.

How long does the program last?

6 months minimum, with most pairings continuing 12+ months informally. Plenty go on for years.

How are pairings made?

By hand. Each side has a 30-minute intake call. We match on field, branch/agency, and life stage. Re-pairing offered at month 3.

What industries are mentors in?

Currently: business operations, federal civil service, healthcare administration, law, nonprofit leadership, entrepreneurship, defense industry consulting, technology. Roster grows quarterly.

Can I become a mentor?

Yes — if you're 3+ years out and you remember being where the women you'd mentor are now. Email us.

What if my mentor isn't a fit?

Re-pairing offered at month 3, no questions asked, no awkwardness. We'd rather get it right than save the original match.

Is mentorship a substitute for coaching?

No. Mentorship is proof and access. Coaching is skill-building. Many women do both. See military career coaching.

Are there scholarships?

Mentor program runs at low or no cost to mentees regardless. Scholarships fund the operations side.

The Method

Where this track lives in the Freedom Formula.

Every HER NEXT MISSION coaching track is built on Krystalore Crews's signature framework — the Freedom Formula (Core · Confidence · Consistency · Community · Celebration) — applied across six life domains (Identity · Mission · Health & Fitness · Lifestyle · Communication · Relationships). Here's where this track puts its strongest weight.

Topics most coached here

  • Relationships — the mentor pairing is the work.
  • Identity — witnessed and reflected by a woman who walked it.
  • Mission — narrowed by hearing how someone else named theirs.

5 C's emphasized

  • Community. The heart of the track — a sister who's walked it.
  • Confidence. Built from witnessing another woman's evidence.
  • Celebration. Honoring progress, not just productivity.

Modalities used

  • Trauma-Informed Compassionate Inquiry
  • Emotional Intelligence Coaching
  • Sister-led peer mentorship
