MILITARY CAREER COACHING

1-on-1 coaching for women translating a military career into a civilian one — without losing what made them who they are.

Translation, not reinvention.

Military career coaching is 1:1 work that turns a service record into a civilian offer. Civilian recruiters don't read MOSs or AFSCs — they read outcomes, scope, budget, and people. Most career coaches read neither side. We do both. Our work translates 22 years of leadership, operations, and accountability into language hiring committees actually understand — without sanding off the parts of you that made it possible.

This is the difference between a Veteran-friendly resume rewrite and an actual career strategy: the resume is a deliverable, not the goal.

What's included in the engagement.

  • Discovery (Week 1). Career assessment, identity audit, values inventory, what you actually want vs. what you've been told you should want.
  • Translation (Weeks 2–4). Resume (federal + private), LinkedIn, cover letter, elevator pitch, interview narrative bank, 30-second story library.
  • Targeting (Weeks 5–6). Federal vs. private vs. defense industry vs. nonprofit vs. consulting — picking the right doors based on your last decade and next decade.
  • Market entry (Weeks 7–10). Interview prep (behavioral, panel, technical), salary research, negotiation playbook, decision-frameworks for competing offers, network activation plan.
  • First 90 days post-hire. Optional onboarding coaching so the offer becomes the right job — not just a job.

Who this is for.

  • Women within 12 months of separation, retirement, medical separation, or first-responder departure.
  • Women 1–5 years out who landed something but feel stuck or invisible in it.
  • Senior NCOs and officers who need help marketing 20+ years of command experience.
  • Women who want a coach who understands service culture and the cost of leaving it.

Who this isn't for.

  • Anyone looking only for resume editing — that's a deliverable, not the engagement.
  • Anyone unwilling to do identity work alongside the job search. The two are linked. Skipping one breaks the other.
  • Active-duty servicemembers without command authorization to engage outside paid work hours.

Why women specifically.

Generic Veteran career coaching is designed around the average male transitioner. Women Veterans face higher unemployment in the first 12 months out, lower confidence in salary negotiation, and a labor market that systematically under-credits their command experience. We coach the whole picture — career, identity, nervous system, family bandwidth — because if any of those four breaks, the others follow.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

How long does career coaching take?

Most engagements run 8–12 weeks active, plus optional first-90-days follow-up post-hire. We don't do drive-by sessions — career change is a campaign, not a calendar event.

Federal job search or private sector?

Both. Federal resumes follow a different format (pages-long, USAJobs-tailored), use of GS grading, and require KSA-style narratives. Private-sector resumes are tight and outcome-driven. We coach both in parallel since most women apply to both tracks.

How is this different from VA TAP?

TAP is a one-week curriculum survey of available benefits and career paths. Career coaching is the deep, individualized work after TAP — the part TAP can't do because it's a class of 30 people on the way out the door.

Can you help with VA disability and benefits?

That work belongs with our military transition specialist track. We refer between the two, often running concurrently.

What if I'm 5+ years out and stuck?

Most women we coach are 1–5 years out, not actively transitioning. Stuck looks like: working a job that doesn't use you, stalled in a promotion you don't actually want, or wondering why a great paycheck feels hollow. Coaching addresses that directly.

Do you work with senior officers?

Senior officer career change is closer to military consultant work — positioning, brand, board readiness, network activation. Career coaching is the right entry for women still wanting a structured employer; consultant advisory is right for women going independent or board-track.

Are scholarships available?

Yes. Cost is never the gate. Email and we'll talk about how to make it work.
