MILITARY COACH

Performance and leadership coaching that uses the frameworks you already speak: mission, OODA, after-action review, principles of war, intent.

A coach who speaks the language.

You don't need a coach who learned about leadership from a book. You need one who's run a brief, taken a counseling, written an OPORD, and watched a plan survive contact with the enemy. A military coach uses the frameworks you already trust — mission analysis, OODA, AAR, commander's intent, the principles of war — to drive civilian outcomes.

What we work on.

  • Mission clarity. What are you actually trying to accomplish — civilian-life version. Often the part TAP forgot to ask.
  • Decision-making under uncertainty. OODA in board rooms, kitchens, and family councils.
  • After-action. Real AAR cadence on the work, the marriage, the parenting, the body. Sustains, improves, lessons identified.
  • Leading without rank. Influence in flat civilian orgs where people don't have to follow you.
  • Recovery. Operational tempo for a life that's no longer 24/7. The body needs a counter-rhythm to the one service taught it.
  • Difficult conversations. Counseling skills carry over — they just look different in a civilian boardroom.

Who this fits.

  • Women Veterans wanting a coach who doesn't need military terms translated.
  • Senior NCOs and officers leading civilian teams who feel the language gap.
  • Veteran founders running operations.
  • Leaders of Veteran-serving nonprofits and businesses.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

What does "military frameworks" mean in practice?

We use mission analysis (METT-TC, ASCOPE) for goal-setting; OODA for decision-making; AAR for retrospectives; commander's intent for delegation; principles of war (mass, objective, simplicity) for prioritization. Civilian terms get used too — but the structure underneath is military.

Are your coaches credentialed?

Yes. Our coaches hold ICF or equivalent credentials AND served. We don't take 'served once, calls herself a coach' practitioners.

Do you work with civilian leaders?

Some. The frameworks travel. But our primary focus is women Veterans and Veteran-led organizations. If you're a civilian leader of a Veteran team, that fits.

How long are sessions?

60 minutes biweekly is the default cadence. We can flex.

Do you offer team coaching?

Yes. Team engagements run 6 months minimum and include 1:1 leader sessions, team workshops, and an AAR cadence on team performance.

How is this different from military consultant advisory?

Consultant advisory is about positioning and market — getting you to the right room. Military coaching is what you do once you're in the room. Often paired.

Is somatic work part of this?

Yes. Decision-making degrades when the nervous system is dysregulated. We integrate body-awareness practices alongside framework work.

The Method

Where this track lives in the Freedom Formula.

Every HER NEXT MISSION coaching track is built on Krystalore Crews's signature framework — the Freedom Formula (Core · Confidence · Consistency · Community · Celebration) — applied across six life domains (Identity · Mission · Health & Fitness · Lifestyle · Communication · Relationships). This is the most framework-heavy track — all five C's run through every session.

Topics most coached here

  • Identity — mission-aligned, command-tested, civilian-translated.
  • Mission — commander's-intent applied to her own life.
  • Communication — and Health & Fitness as performance infrastructure.

5 C's emphasized

  • Core. Mission-aligned identity work.
  • Confidence. Self-coaching as command capability.
  • Consistency. AAR-driven weekly cadence.
  • Community & Celebration. Peer command rooms; recognition as performance signal.

Modalities used

  • Performance Frameworks (OODA, AAR, Mission Analysis)
  • Somatic & Body-Centered Work
  • Breathwork & Nervous-System Regulation
